Why Iris exists

Photo libraries kept getting harder to own. The big services moved everything to the cloud, locked away the metadata, and make you pay forever just to keep your own pictures accessible.

We wanted something better — a library that lives on your Mac, in folders you already use, with the kind of intelligence that used to require a subscription.
