Some very nice things.

I have been testing Iris for a couple of months and I think it is delightful… it lets you explore your tens- or hundreds-of-thousands of photos in a way that treats each of them as little memory boxes. Iris is great, old-school, indie Mac software.

This is literally the app I've dreamt of for a very long time — a photo browser that can handle multiple sources with a UI as polished as Apple Photos. I already love every pixel of it.

This is one of the best software onboarding experiences I've had in a long time.

I'm impressed by Iris, an elegant and clever Mac app that does a bunch of delightful things… for the first time I have this entire digital photos history viewable in one place. It's marvelous and transformative.

Iris is blazing fast and a dream to run. Even on my Intel iMac 2019.

Tyler has created a fabulous photo & video library, which I bought sight unseen.

This sort of software fit, finish, care and love is the whole reason I'm an Apple and Mac user all these decades. I wish we had way more of it!

While Iris is still processing my Photos library in the background… just wow. As a software designer/engineer myself — congrats on launching this app. I love it. Especially how fast it is, the simplicity and the details.

Iris is so fast and wonderfully focused on actually finding stuff I've been having a ball digging through memories and organizing them again.

It can handle large numbers of photos with ease — my folders of photos has over 140,000 images… If you've thousands of photos you want to browse and interrogate then give Iris a go.

I am so happy to finally find a beautiful and fast consumer-grade photo library that doesn't insist on reorganizing my files or rely on the cloud.

In essence, that application feels a lot like what iPhoto was years ago… I do favour the local approach and the simplicity — the latter being a hard thing to achieve.

This app was built with tons of care and craft. Some of the engineering that went into it to make it lightning fast is just mind-blowing.
