About Iris

Iris is a native macOS photo and video library app. It scans folders of photos and videos on disk (including your Apple Photos library), builds a searchable library, and provides on-device intelligence — face recognition, scene classification, and audio transcription — without sending a byte to any server.

Boilerplate (50 words)

Iris turns the photos already on your Mac into a browsable, searchable library: on-device face recognition, map trails, search that reads text in images and speech in video, and streaming to iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. It never imports, alters, or uploads your originals. $29, one time. Made by Retina Studio in Richmond, Virginia.

Boilerplate (one-liner)

Iris is a native Mac photo library that brings face recognition, map browsing, and deep search to the photos already on your computer — without moving, changing, or uploading a single file.
